Every company must employ at least one prevention officer (see Arbowet). Even smaller companies – with a maximum of 25 employees – are required to have appointed a prevention officer. However, the owner of a small company may take on the role of prevention officer themselves.

The Prevention Officer training goes into more detail about occupational risks and legal regulations, and you will also receive practical tips and skills to be able to carry out your prevention tasks properly. Thanks to having a well-trained prevention officer, any risks are limited and controlled, which not only reduces the chance of damage to the company and the environment, but also injury, illness and other health problems.

This training is suitable for every starting prevention officer, but is certainly also recommended for employees who need knowledge of the Working Conditions Act to perform their tasks. Think of managers with responsibility for the Working Conditions Policy of their department, members of the Works Council or safety committees, case managers, etc.

The basic topics that are covered during the online prevention officer training:

  • The role of the prevention officer within the company
  • Consultation and communication with the Works Council, PVT and management
  • Working Conditions Act (including the current Working Conditions Act amendments of 2017)
  • Working Conditions Risks
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Role of the Occupational Health and Safety Service
  • RI&E
  • Information and instruction
  • Accidents and near-accidents
  • Emergency plan
